Arcadia also has place for 5 students each sharing the space as a common studio. They receive feedback / instruction one day a week in an ongoing dialogue, working on their own and together w/ drawing, painting, and sculpture. At present,  september 2011, there are 2 openings,,,,,,


This autumn I will be running various drawing and modelling courses for both children (10 - 13yrs + 14 yrs and up) and for adults. The children's courses run in the afternoons after school and the adult courses in the evening.

The courses are focused on principles of learning to see. I have been developing them in recent years and they've proven to be effective in developing and strengthening the individual's ability to see and interpret the  world around us. The lessons are not directed towards any specific style, but rather focused on developing a visual vocabulary/language that will assist the individual's own efforts in whichever direction/media they choose to work in.


All courses run 10 sessions at a time.


Children's courses cost 1000,-
10 - 13 yrs,Tuesday kl 15.15 - 16.45

14 yrs and up, Thursday 15.30 - 17.00


Adult drawing courses

Basic Drawing:

A general drawing course for all levels, very individual. The course will start with some basic exercises and drawing, using sculptures, The essential goal is to learn and deepen the skill ‘to see’ (you must keep an open mind and do the work) and so help develop a visual vocabulary based on traditional drawing principles.

Figure Drawing:

Akt and croquis drawing from live model, for all levels, though some basic drawing skills are prefered. Through various drawing techniques and exercises, we will explore the many facets of the human figure and portrait drawing, building our understanding on basic principles of 'construction' and inter-relationship of form and movement. 
Wednesday (starting 14.09)
kl 18.30-21       3.700,-  (includes model fees)


An ongoing course. in clay modelling is held on Tuesday evenings. There is limited space and the cost is 300,- / 2hour session
